Steamer only
Steamers are gentler than irons and therefore ideal for delicate fabrics such as lace, silk, tulle, and organza, which are often used for wedding dresses. They reduce the risk of burning, scorching, or causing shiny marks. The Steamer Station is highly recommended because of its strong capacity, which makes removing wrinkles effortless. However, for a destination wedding, a small handheld steamer is ideal, as it can be easily packed in your luggage.

Gentle wash
A professional cleaning is always highly recommended. If you want to wash the dress yourself, you should hang it up to help it keep its shape. Wet the dress and use a mild soap to remove dust and stains. Let it sit for 15 minutes before washing it again (several times). Let it air dry.

Store in Bag
Store your dress in the garment bag and make sure that the zipper does not touch the dress, so it does not get damaged. With satin and silk dresses, you should also be careful with your fingernails, as they can easily scratch the fabric if they’re not well maintained.
